This Saturday our all-conquering Women’s team will play in their second consecutive Grand Final, with plans of going one better than 2014.

The girls take on Deer Park FC, who caused a major upset last week in the preliminary finals defeating Endeavour Hills who finished the regular season undefeated and on top of the ladder, but couldn’t perform when it counted most.

Having had the week off after winning the major semi final, the Bears will need to be at the top of their game, as the meetings so far this year against the Lions have been split results, both decided by less than 10 points.

Co-Captains Steph De Bortoli and Amber McEwin will look to lead by example from the first bounce, and set the Kew standard of brutality in finals.

The entire footy club is behind the girls this weekend and as soon as the Seniors finish their major semi-final at Sportscover Arena, a convoy of boys will come down to join the big contingent that is expected to be there in support of our beloved “Sows.”

Regardless of the result, all players and fans are invited back to the club rooms at Victoria Park for a drink, to toast what has already been a very successful season.
